"Discouraged perfectionist"- This title caught my eyes at once when I was glancing through a Google web page. Discouraged perfectionists are those who hold high expectations of themselves, and easily get frustrated when things do not go the way they wish. First born children and only children are more likely to fall into this type, for they are subject to high expectation from their family, which causes them much pressure. When failing to do things as they wish, these people no longer want to try for they know they may never make it. “I wasn’t born a talent- So why bother exhausting myself?” Such negative thought has pulled them back from making progress, and let them fall deeper into indulgence and guilt. They are hopeless, seeing nothing but a dead-end road.
“They are incurable”- say doctors. “We have had enough”- shout desperate parents. “None of my business”- Friends smirk.
Alright, fine! I don’t need anyone.
That’s it. And they are alone in the battle. A desperate, hopeless soldier tries in vain to escape from a rain of arrows attack. Can they survive? They don’t even care. For them, life is no more than an existence, a burden, and they have had enough. They make no effort but wait for whatever will come will come.
At times they want to loose hold on the string of life, but somehow they still cling to it.
A cliché goes “Look at the bright side”, but where should they look if surrounded by nothing but darkness. Faith is gone. Hope is gone. They can’t hold on anymore. A full stop is marked for a discouraged perfectionist.
Poor them? No way. They deserve that end for they haven’t tried. They let loose things too easily. That is a cheap price for a cheap life.
