Hanoi "Liberation" Day

It took me nearly two hours to get out of the heavy traffic. I didn’t see the firework. I only saw people, motorcycles, tricycles, buses and bikes inching slowly forward. My fingers became sore and stiff  because I had to grab the handlebars for so long and had to constantly squezzed the brake to slow or stop the scooter. My feet were on the ground most of the time. My head felt tense. My stomatch was empty. My nostrils were blocked. There must have been tons of carbon dioxide being released in the atmosphere.
I got stuck five times within two hours. I tried every way to get out of the traffic: I tried diffferent roads, but everywhere I went, there was traffic. I tried driving on the pavement, but I got stuck just the same. There was nothing but a long tail of traffic.

Being unable to move, I took my time to observe people and sometimes lifted my eyes to see the moon which was so bright and so free.
